Professor Jesvin Yeo is currently a Professor of Visual Communication Design at the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and serves as the university’s Associate Vice Provost (Strategy) for undergraduate education. She leads strategic initiatives that advance institutional transformation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global engagement. With extensive experience in design education, research, and academic leadership, she has been instrumental in shaping the strategic growth of design and creative disciplines within higher education. Her scholarship explores the intersections of design, culture, heritage, innovation, and emerging technologies, with a particular interest in how design can address complex societal challenges. As an educator and strategist, Professor Yeo promotes design as a catalyst for driving human-centric innovation, sustainable development, and responsible technological advancement.

Designing for an AI Future
About this talk
Artificial intelligence is transforming design practice, prompting design schools to rethink how they prepare graduates for an AI-enabled future. The keynote explores how Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has responded with a university-wide strategy that integrates AI across the curriculum, supported by the NTU Education 2030 initiative and its signature pedagogy for all undergraduates. Using the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) as a case study of curriculum transformation, the keynote shows how AI is incorporated into design education through project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and studio-based inquiry. Beyond a technical tool, ADM positions AI as a catalyst for creativity, critical reflection, and responsible innovation. By sharing NTU’s experience, the keynote invites educators to rethink the purpose of design education in the age of AI.
