UXINDIA was hosted by UMO in 2016 in order to mainly make the global community aware of design thinking and user experience while also promoting it among businesses and industries.

UXINDIA, the biggest UX conference of India, was hosted by UMO in 2017 in order to create and sustain User Experience in a better way. The conference was of four days from 1st to 4th of November at Marriot Whitefield in Bangalore which encouraged the participation and improvement of user experience designers, program managers, visual designers, UX leaders, front end designers, user researchers, startup founders and design students.

Conference Schedule

The Conference consisted of a considerable number of interactive workshops by several eminent UX leaders, user researchers, technologists and startup founders of both national and international claim in the field of design thinking and user experience. One of the star events of the conference was the launch ‘Design Quadrant ’, a measure of design to help the design industry benchmark about design profession and thereby help in the growth of the design industry. Other major events included the prestigious Design X awards 2017, UXINDIA Talent Fair 2017, IA Fusion, Design Start-up programme, and the promotion of women in design.

Some of the enticing speakers include Prof. Sudhakar Nadkarni- Dean of Business Design at the Werlingkar Institute of Management in Mumbai, Christopher Noessel- an Author, Global Design Practice Manager at IBM Design of USA, Steve Fadden- Principal researcher, manager, and Lecturer at Salesforce in USA, Caitlyn Phillips- Global Associate Director at IBM in USA, Rob Varney- Creative Director at Foolproof in UK, and  Michele Sarko- Chief Designer at Intuit in USA.

The Design Quadrant was a measure of design with the intention of helping the design industry standardizes anything on the basis of design profession. Design Quadrant’s goal was to help the Companies/business teams display themselves as the most appropriate places to work for designers and attract top talent, the Designers benchmark themselves for better career growth, and Recruiters assess their needs and target right design talent in the right way.

For Design X awards the following categories of awards were given Best Design – Enterprise and Startup, Best Design – Agency, Best Design – Student and the People’s Choice Best Design Award.

After hosting fruitful and innovative conferences since 2012, UXINDIA in 2019 hosted in its very peculiar way of stealing hearts of UX designers, by UX designers. The conference was of three days which encouraged inspiring and developing skills of user experience designers, UX leaders, front end designers, program managers, visual designers, user researchers, startup founders and design students.

Conference Schedule

The general schedule of the conference included immersive workshops led by international and national experts spread across various tracks as well as interactive talks and panels with UX designers, UX leaders, user researchers, technologists and startup founders. The schedule also proceeded with UX Talent Fair showcasing design talent and companies/ design agencies looking to hire talent, and the Keynote Talk shows by eminent personalities in the UX field. The conference ended with the Design X Awards. Some popular speakers who graced the event in 2018 include Russ Unger – Design Director at UserGlue, Katya Kostyukova – Lead Product Designer at Facebook, Steve Fadden – Research Manager at Google, Meena Kothandaraman – Customer Experience Strategist at Twig and at Fish Research Practice, Elizabeth Baylor – Senior User Experience Researcher at Google, to name a few.

As we know that the most dynamic advancement in this present world is that of technology and as this conference was based purely on UX technology, it did assure to amaze you with several new methods and events. The workshops were based on similar topics like the topics of Immersive Design for VR Storytelling, The Human Mind and Language: Understanding Us to Design Better, Mindful Design Practice 2.0, and Visualizing User Journeys: A Quest for Shared Vision.These topics were thoughtfully selected with the intention of making human living better in the stream of progress.

The Design X Awards is a UMO’s design-promotion program that celebrates noble designs by recognizing and rewarding the best of it in several fields. There were mainly four Design X Awards that are given, namely, Best Design Agency, Best Design Student, Best Design enterprise or start-up and Best Design Special Jury Award.
